IPM workshops | 3 Nov to 8 Dec
Tuesday 3 November 2026 to Tuesday 8 December 2026
7:30 AM to 9:00 AM
49 Cronin Rd, Pukekohe
Following previous successful workshops, NZVeg, as part of A Lighter Touch, is hosting a series of Spring, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) workshops. Lettuce will be the crop of focus, but information and practices are transferable to other crops. All growers, agronomists, and crop advisors are welcome to join and take part. The classroom session will be online, so those outside of the Pukekohe area will have the option of joining.
The workshop will follow a similar model as the previous ones, with two sessions, an outdoor and a classroom session. The outdoor session will focus on crop monitoring, how to inspect a crop for pests and diseases, identification, etc. This will also look at some of the biodiversity work we are doing at the Cronin Rd Demonstration farm.
The classroom session will cover what was found during the morning. Throughout the workshop, this will extend to trends of numbers over time, whether any intervention is required, what is compatible with IPM practices, and the effects of any management options taken. We will also have guest speakers throughout the series of workshops to provide additional information on pests, diseases, or other crops.
The workshops will start on Tuesday 3 November, and continue each week until Tuesday 8 December. They are being held at the Demonstration Farm, 49 Cronin Rd, Pukekohe.
7:30 am | Field session starts (if attending in person, please arrive on time for the safety briefing)
